Inspiration

Everyday file chores, like shrinking a scanned PDF for an email limit, resizing a photo to the exact KB an exam form wants, or making a QR code that will not expire, usually mean ad-heavy sites that ask you to sign up or add watermarks. I wanted one place where these small jobs just work.

What it does

GoToolsOnline is a free collection of 160+ online utilities: merge, split, compress and edit PDFs; compress, resize and convert images (including HEIC to JPG); generate static QR codes; count words and characters; format JSON; Base64; colour tools; and student calculators such as CGPA to percentage and attendance. Everything opens in the browser with no account.

How I built it

Many tools run fully client-side with JavaScript and the Canvas API (for example the photo resizer and JSON formatter), so files never leave the device. Tools that need server processing handle the file for that request only and do not keep an archive.

Challenges

Hitting exact KB windows for exam photos (quality search plus a minimum-size check), and keeping pages fast and simple on low-end phones.

What's next

More student and form-filling helpers, and clearer explanations on each tool page.
