Inspiration

"GOTONG ROYONG" app is an app that also inspired by the popular word "Gotong Royong" in Indonesia which means "work together to achieve mutual goals" in english, since Indonesian people really respect the value of "gotong royong"

What it does

This app was built as a platform that connect people around us that needs help or want to help others

How we built it

This app was built based on ReactJS frontend and Firebase as the backend. We also utilized advance technology such as PWA (progressive web apps), Firebase Auth, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Firestore to boost user experience

We use Firebase as our backend to support "fast-development" since this was hackathon with 2-days deadline to built MVP

Challenges we ran into

Since we implement Maps into our application, we have struggled in searching free apis that support features that we offer or plan.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud that our app are running pretty well, and every features that we planned have been developed and deployed without problem.

What we learned

We learned how to work fast and how to make decision as fast as possible, because the greatest challenge in hackathon is Time

What's next for GOTONG ROYONG

Add more feature, such as more event can be added, each user able to have multiple event, and more types of event (scheduled, onetime, etc ). And also decrease the latency of notification pushed
