Goshen Lab Schedule

Inspiration:

This project was inspired by the waiting time of patients. Time spent by patients who would like to schedule a laboratory test, especially in Nigeria where results might get lost in the process.

What it does:

Because of the outrageous waiting time between scheduling an appointment and the time is taken for the patient's result to be delivered and also the medium in which it is delivered, we came up with an idea that would give more control to the patients and also deliver results that are best. This project helps the patient chat with a chatbot, and book an appointment and then the result is sent via email and text via power automate.

How we built it:

We built a chatbot that would allow patients to book schedules as when due and when there is availability and that reduces waiting time and crowds in the hospitals, the patients fill a form and the form goes to a share point in which allows the laboratory scientists to conduct the test and input the lab's test results. When this is done, a text message and an email with the link to the test result is sent to the patient.

Challenges we ran into:

In Nigeria, we understand that the old ones might not be familiar with a chatbot and we originally came up with an idea of a website as that is generally known, but we couldn't use power pages as at the moment because it was still under review.

Accomplishments that we're proud of:

We are proud of this accomplishment as a team. We are proud of the idea that we came up with so as to reduce patients' waiting time, resulting in healthier living.

What we learned:

We have learned a lot. One of them would be that there is beauty in diversity and unity. Also, there is still a lot of work to be done.

What's next for Goshen Lab Schedule:

We know that Goshen Lab Schedule would definitely change the narrative in Nigeria's Hospital's patients' scheduling, so we as a team would keep working on it.
