Inspiration

Educational institutions often struggle with fragmented administrative workflows, manual attendance logging, and insecure data storage. GOSciora was inspired by the vision to create a unified, reliable, and modern management platform that bridges everyday school administration with seamless digital efficiency.

What it does

GOSciora provides a complete digital ecosystem for educational management:

  • Smart Attendance System: Fast, paperless attendance logging via QR code scanning.
  • Administrative Dashboard: Real-time management of admissions, student profiles, and institutional records.
  • Fee Management: Automated fee tracking, receipt generation, and payment status updates.
  • Cloud Data Backup: Direct integration with Google Drive API for automated, secure offsite backups.
  • Monetization & Ad Integration: Built-in Google AdMob integration to support operational costs.

How we built it

We developed GOSciora using modern cross-platform software engineering techniques:

  • Framework & UI: Built with .NET MAUI and XAML for cross-platform desktop and mobile support.
  • Logic & Language: Written in C# using Visual Studio 2022.
  • Database Architecture: Local offline persistence using SQLite with synchronized cloud/server capabilities using SQL Server.
  • Services: Integrated Google Drive API for OAuth authentication and cloud backups, alongside Google AdMob SDK.

Challenges we ran into

  • Ensuring real-time, zero-latency QR scanning across low-end mobile devices.
  • Designing a robust local database schema in SQLite that seamlessly syncs with SQL Server without conflicts.
  • Handling OAuth tokens securely for automated background backups to Google Drive.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Delivering a multi-featured, end-to-end management app with minimal resource overhead.
  • Successfully integrating secure OAuth cloud backup pipelines directly inside a .NET MAUI environment.
  • Creating an intuitive user experience for administrators, teachers, and students alike.

What we learned

  • Mastered advanced cross-platform development patterns in .NET MAUI and XAML.
  • Gained deep practical experience in database synchronization between SQLite and SQL Server.
