Inspiration
As my first hackathon, i wanted to develop a simple concept that was familiar with me. I decided to base my project on the indie game Vampire Survivors, except with a local twist (geese and goose fair).
What it does
The controls are simple, WASD (or left, right , up down) for movement, and left click for honk attack and throwable Nokia (once unlocked). Upgrades are completely RNG, you may get duplicates of the same upgrade and the upgrades can range from anything like extra damage or more projectiles and stats.
How we built it
I built this game solo in Godot using the GDScript Programming Language. Art combined with self drawn assets and other asset packs (all with credits).
Challenges we ran into
Broken collisions, to broken code and game loops, to completely random crashes. Ran out of time to add leaderboard as well.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I built a (somewhat) functioning project on my first hackathon, that's all I'm happy about
What we learned
Time management and the importance of sleep
What's next for GOOSE SURVIVOR 2000
Major bug fixes and patches
Extra credits i forgot to add to the final game
