Inspiration
Our team is made up of members of SIUE's Game Development Group (GDG). With game development, oftentimes it is easy to start projects but not always easy to finish them. Having a hard deadline with crunch that eHacks provides is great for our group to learn and grow in this regard.
What it does
Our project is a 2D platforming game where the player controls adorable pixel-art characters and survives the goose apocalypse on SIUE's campus!
How we built it
The majority of our project was built using Aseprite and Godot 3.X. We've focused on making a small manageable game with an emphasis on core 2D platforming mechanics with a sense of humor.
Challenges we ran into
GitHub was a challenge for our team.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Sweet 2D animations, custom pixel art, game logic, enemy AI, creative music, sound effects, particle effects, and more.
What we learned
It may be best to come prepared with an idea ahead of time. Also - having a better understanding of who is responsible for what part of the project is the best.
What's next for Goose Gooose Goooose
We would like to take this project and expand it to include more levels, more characters, additional game mechanics, and make it accessible for everyone as part of GDG to learn Godot, pixel art, music, and level design!
Built With
