Inspiration

We were inspired by how often people are interested in investing in the stock market but are confused about where to start. Investing responsibly requires resources and knowledge about stocks which can be daunting to curate, so we wanted to build something that could minimize that gap.

What it does

This program is trained on datasets from the stock market from 2013 to 2019 and uses this information to predict stock market trends. Users can compare these predictions with actual market prices, allowing them to gauge the accuracy and reliability of the model. This feature enhances their ability to make educated investment choices.

How we built it

We used Javascript, Python, React, HTML, and CSS to program. Python was used for the back end and React for the front end. This enables seamless interaction between the user

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges that we ran into were finding datasets and training the models. We also had some complications with starting the front-end portion of the program.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the inclusion of the chatbot system since it could provide users with quick on-demand feedback for any questions they may have.

What we learned

Throughout the project, we learned a great deal about integrating chatbots into software systems, as well as how to effectively connect backend and frontend components. This experience significantly enhanced our coding knowledge and technical skills.

What's next for Goose Dorado

In the future, we hope to translate the text features and chatbot to Spanish and other languages so that more people can access this program without difficulty. Making this program more accessible to these masses can help democratize financial literacy.
