Inspiration:
Inspired to find a new method of collaborative creativity and productivity, we came up with the idea of Google Marks. We all use Google Docs, but wished that there was a version that allowed users to draw right on the canvas together during classes or in free time to help fill in missed notes during lectures or create an art masterpiece together.
What it does:
Google Marks allows users to work together in tablet handwritten notes or digital art. Since it is a Google Docs add-on, users can share notes and collaborate on the document in real-time.
How we built it:
We prototyped this Google Docs add-on using Figma.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we ran into was our skill of coding. Because we all had limited coding experience, it was hard to make this product come to life.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Accomplishments that we are proud of are being able to prototype our idea out and learning how to work in a time-sensitive environment.
What we learned
We learned how to create designs and prototype using Figma. We learned how to translate our initial idea into a visual representation.
What's next for Google Marks
We would like to actually implement Google Marks as a google add-on. Because our team consists of beginners, we did not get to program our idea as a product. In the future, we are hoping to write codes to create Google Marks that can be used in Google Docs.
