Inspiration
I love exploring google maps and saving places I want to visit before travelling on my own but it is quite time consuming, so it would be awesome if AI could automate this process for me.
What it does
Looks at places I've saved as want to visit and starred (visited) to get an idea of what are my preferences and build a unique taste profile, which it uses to find similar places in new destinations when prompted. It blends my preferences with search intent to generate and rank places.
How we built it
- Get your Google Maps saved places export (from Google Takeout)
- AI analyses saved places to build a taste profile
- Write what you are looking for using natural language into a chatbot

What's next for Google Maps Personal Assistant
Embed security & production grade elements like a SQL database and IAM, open to the public so users can securely create their own Personal Assistant (using their own keys) and use the tools Work on the recommendation engine and taste profile builder to improve accuracy and relevance of the results
