Everyday we would find ourselves always looking through our 35+ internet tabs (not exaggerating...) for our beloved Google calendar to figure out which class we need to rush to next.
We created a wall mountable external display for Google Calendar that shows the events in your day. Each event is displayed in a RGB backlit 16x2 character LCD. In addition we integrated Google's red time scroll bar with background led strips. The backlight color of each display is determined by the color set in Google calendar by the user. In addition we are in the process of integrating a alert system that will pulse the event's display 10 minutes before that upcoming event.
The hardware functionality of such a display goes beyond Google calender. Such things as having a heads-up display for upcoming bus times, news events, to-do list, social media feed, and rainbows (we like pretty colors).
Our device is completely wireless and require no hard line connect to any computer, just WiFi!
