Inspiration

Having previously listed items on e-commerce platforms myself, I couldn't help but feel demotivated whenever I had to fill in the product description in detail. This led me to ponder how I could reduce friction using the tools available today.

What it does

One-Commerce is a simple application that takes an image as input and generates a product description, which can then be copied over to the e-commerce platform of your choice.

How we built it

I developed the application using Express.js with the support of HTMX, Pug.js, and Tailwind CSS for the UI. The Node.js Gemini Library facilitated interaction with Gemini AI.

Challenges we ran into

Initially, I aimed to integrate with Shopify Admin APIs to seamlessly create a product on the user's Shopify storefront, enhancing the overall experience. However, I realized I didn't have time to both enhance the generation process and fully integrate with Shopify.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Completing the Hackathon despite having a full-time job.

What we learned

I learned that while additional features may appear to add value to the product, it's crucial to prioritize focusing on the core features and refining them first.

What's next for One-Commerce

I may complete the Shopify integration, further refine the UI, or add and enhance features based on gathered feedback.
