Our Idea

We're dedicated to enhancing the air travel experience by revamping the in-flight entertainment system.

Our approach involves the development of a user-friendly interface, which not only simplifies but also enhances the overall in-flight entertainment experience. To ensure our solution met the diverse needs of travellers, we reached out to friends who had recently taken flights and gathered their opinions.

They candidly shared their experiences, highlighting the outdated content and navigation issues they faced. A surprising 3 out of 3 friends expressed that the in-flight entertainment system felt too outdated, prompting them to rely on their smartphones throughout the flight.

One key insight emerged from our discussions: language inclusivity. We discovered that passengers with different language preferences were not adequately accommodated.

For instance, one of our friends had parents who only spoke Chinese, while another's parents exclusively spoke Punjabi. Recognizing the importance of inclusivity, our solution begins with a welcome page that allows users to select their preferred language. This simple yet effective feature ensures that every passenger can engage with our content in a way that aligns with their interests and linguistic preferences.

Key Features

• A welcome page that allows the user to choose languages (interactive experience)
• Include a previous search under the search bar (allows user to return to previously searched screens without navigating the screen again)
• A Reset button/all options (if they want to re-choose their preferences)
• Help from staff option (with more specific options like ordering food/drink)
• Unconventional yet engaging ways of navigating the app (such as the randomizer selection, doesn’t overwhelm the user)
• no permanent sidebar (go full screen, for a better experience with movies and games, navigation)
