Inspiration
The problem we are trying to solve with the app would be the difficulty people often encounter when trying to find a job. It’s important because jobs are essential and the amount of people searching for jobs are drastically increasing. We want to make it easier for anyone to find jobs in the shortest amount of time possible.
What it does
The problem we were trying to fix was, we wanted to make the app an easier, creative and fun way to find and discover your career path. An easier way to discover new jobs, and make it unique by our mascot who helps you to use our app and make it easier for users to easy find what's needed. The app is unique because of how we are using google search engine as our search and it’s not base on what we have to make.
How I built it
Using MIT AI App Inventor and with the help of several YouTube videos
Challenges I ran into
We faced a few problems whilst programming, especially with the blocks in coding. We want certain functions to occur if and when a user presses a button, however, we don’t know which are the proper blocks and connections to make it happen. This problem frequently turned up when we were creating our app’s “Save” button because we wanted any information to be input into our app to be saved. However, it wasn’t properly saving at all so we kept trying to connect blocks. We decided to watch various Youtube videos of MIT App Inventor tutorials to try and see if we could find the solution to our problem. As well as errors that would need to be fixed after the designs are changed. We use critical thinking in the process of making it complete to what we think it should be. Time is one of the major problems involved because we would not only need time management and making the codes all the more efficient, but, but also making sure what we are doing is all correct.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We are proud of learning to code using app inventor and making it perform like real apps. Amazing!
What I learned
We learned that creating apps require a lot of time and effort, as well as a lot of critical thinking. Either as a group or an individuals, we need to plan ahead. Additionally, we learned that we must be prepared for any possible alternative because despite the fact we have countless ideas for our apps, it might not result to what we actually want so there’s a lot of trial and error thus, causing difficulty. It won’t always work out the way we think since this is all new to most of us. We also learned a different type of coding in MIT App Inventor which was connecting blocks, and what components should go with what, in order to make what we want to happen.
What's next for Good Job
By making it all more efficient and alot more realistic that the people on the outside would be able to use it. But it should also develop into an app that would be able to initiate more advanced codes so that there would be more functions to add to that app. Making the app solely yours and not like others (meaning using other search engines and basing it off of other apps).
