Inspiration
We were inspired by the countless individuals and organizations worldwide working tirelessly for positive change. However, we witnessed the limitations of traditional fundraising methods, often plagued by inefficiencies, lack of transparency, and high fees. We envisioned a world where anyone could directly support causes they care about, confident that their contributions would make a genuine impact
What it does
Good Hands is a web3-based crowd-funding platform specifically designed for social good initiatives. Built on blockchain technology, it removes the need for intermediaries, ensuring complete transparency and eliminating fees. Donors can contribute to causes they believe in using various cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies, while campaign owners receive 100% of the funds directly. Additionally, Good Hands features impact tracking tools, allowing donors to see the tangible effects of their contributions.
How we built it
We utilized a combination of cutting-edge technologies to create Good Hands. The platform's core functionality is built on Solidity smart contracts, ensuring secure and tamper-proof transactions. The front-end interface is developed with ReactJS, providing a user-friendly experience. We used thirdweb to deploy the contract XRP EVM sidechain.
Challenges we ran into
This is our first dapp. We faced a lot of challenges to understand the web3 ecosystem itself. But thanks to countless resources available online and the documentation of the EVM sidechain, we finished this project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Despite the challenges, we developed and deployed our first fully functional Dapp.
What we learned
- We learned a lot about how to plan and design an entire project from scratch.
- This helped us in exploring the web3 technologies, how to write smart contracts, and how to deploy them.
