Inspiration

Good Guide is a platform that helps the people who are in need. The motive of Good Guide is to form a bridge between people in need and people who are ready to serve them. With the help of this application, during Pandemic situations like COVID-19, those who are willing to serve may come forward without any hindrance or hesitation because through this application there is no need for the person who is willing to help the people in need in-person.

What it does

This application provides services like food, cloth and education. It also maintain fridge and closet stocks in which donor can keep their donated stuffs. As a part of cloth service, it is having Cloth Donation Event as a Add-On. Also In Education Service, it handles Session and Scholarship requests. In Food service, donor can keep their donated food items in the fridge in their nearby area and can enter their donated quantity through the application and once they donate, they will receive an email notification regarding donated food items. The recipient can review the food items with their available quantity and enter the needed quantity and grab their need from their nearby fridge.In Cloth service, the donor can enter the donated clothes quantity kept in their nearby closet through the application and once donated, they receive the email notification regarding clothes donation details. The donor can also conduct cloth donation events and they can also view the needed cloth requests from the requestor through the application and deliver them to their address mentioned in the application. The recipient can review the clothes with their available quantity and enter the needed quantity and grab their need from their nearby closet. The recipient can also view the cloth donation events conducted in their nearby places and they can also raise requests for the needed through the application and get delivered to their address mentioned in the application. In Education service, the donor can provide sessions for the requested contents and they can also provide scholarships for the requestors through the application. The recipient can raise scholarship requests and they can also view the available sessions in their nearby locations and can raise request for their needed contents.

How we built it

We have Implemented SSO-OpenID for common user registration through google account. Also have Integrated Chat Bot with our application to provide better user experience. We have used catchy UI to fascinate end user and made our application as a minimum lovable product.

Challenges we ran into

It was tedious to maintain the stocks of different fridges and closets during the installation/uninstalling of fridge/closet at particular location. Eventually, we have managed to maintain those food and cloth stocks at the inventory.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our goals at the beginning of the competition were to increase our knowledge and to build a beautiful, non-traditional Pega application. We accomplished both of these goals and we are extremely happy with our final product.

What we learned

As a fresher we have learnt a lot, like working on Chat bot and SSO. We have also learned more on basic concepts and effective usage of rules. We also had a great experience and knowledge sharing within our team. We have learnt many Concepts as follows: 1.SSO-OpenID configuration through google account. 2.WebChatbot Configuration. 3.Effective use of datapages and report definitions. 4.Activities & Savable datapages.

What's next for GoodGuide

We have lots of Ideas on enhancing the application like making this application compatible to mobile users and we have planned to add lot more features to this application like medical and accommodation service for those people in need.
