I was inspired by my wonderful Border Collie, Fly. The game was mostly for her and about her. I also wanted to share with my family and friends a sweet thing about her. I like poetry, and in a way I wanted to create something like a poem about her.

It's just a game of Fetch. You throw the ball and she catches if. If you can keep her entertained, ideally she'll stick around. But it's not guaranteed! She might Fly away at any moment!

I built it using Pyglet, a Python game engine, and Pymunk, a Python 2d Physics engine. I used Beepbox.co and audacity to create the music, and LibreSprite to create the art. I also used ChatGPT4 to help me debug and teach me all about Pyglet and Pymunk.

At the end of the day, I just couldn't get the Replit to work, so sorry you can't try it out. But on top of that, Fly just never really got a hang of how to play Fetch or stay on the ground.

I'm just glad I was able to participate and make something, as silly as it turned out.

I learned a ton about importing sprites, game controls, and dogs running around like rockets.

Next, I hope to keep on developing the game and making it into something that's actually playable.
