Inspiration

There must be a way to help people in need. Too often it's all about giving more money, but what if we spun it, got them to help us save money, and helped them along the way.

What it does

It's a reverse spend tracker. While there are lots of apps which help you track how much you spend, this one keeps track of how much you save, and gamifies it to help the needy :)

How we built it

AIStudio for the concept, AG for the skeleton, Cursor for the most of the work, Mobbin for the design, github for the syncing.

Challenges we ran into

Simplifying the app without losing the essence to make the deadline. Also this was the first time I was using Cursor, so there was a reasonable learning curve although I had used other VS code forks.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I've taken something which I do manually and turn it into a full blown webapp. If this takes off , a LOT of people will be saving money and giving it to the poor. I'm very proud and hopeful about that.

What we learned

When to use Cursor (Mainly) , and when to use other tools (Speciality).

What's next for Good Cents

More testing, more validation, monetization, iOS/Android release.
