Inspiration

We wanted to make an impact on our local Delaware community.

What it does

Our web application helps bridge the gap between local businesses and the Delaware community.

How we built it

We used React Typescript (including HTML and CSS) to create the web application. We also used BotPress to create the chatbot.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into many issues with saving state and getting the correct information to display on separate pages. We also had some GitHub issues, such as merge conflicts and divergent branches when pulling in changes.

What's next for GoLocal

We will continue to improve our web application by adding separate pages for each business (so that when you link the business name, it leads you to that business's Discussion page with its reviews). We will also implement a "find places near you" feature. We will also add more local businesses in the future. Finally, we will improve our chatbot to provide recommendations for local businesses the user may want to connect with.
