Inspiration

Inspired by Tinder-matching style along with Amazon-like search and filter.

It helps users to discover potential roommates and apartments with filtered preferences.

We used React Native Expo, Firbase, and Rentcast.io API

We ran into challenges with figuring out authentication workflows, adjusting to typescript, and integrating the APIs.

We're proud to successfully integrate Firebase and add a cool Splash Screen.

We learned how to use React Native Expo, API integration, and typescript.

Deploying it to the public, finding a suitable API that may not require us to pay for the apartment dataset, and improving UI/UX.

I worked mostly on the front-end and integrated Firebase API to handle authentication as well as Firestore to record user profiles. I also created original art for the logo and fish icons that appear when the app is opened, as well as implementing a cohesive UI.

I worked on the backend, integrating the apartments api and coding the login, signup, and apartment listing screen. I tried doing profiles for the roommates by saving them onto a database and helping with UI as well
