Inspiration

  • Daily commute
  • Everyday pollution
  • Shareable web or mobile games like Wordle ## What it does
  • Calculates how many grams of emissions you saved compared to if you had taken a gas car.
  • Posts your score and ranks it on a leaderboard so you can compete with your friends. -Allows you to share the results on social media. ## How we built it
  • Using React and add-ons
  • Programmed base form with the basic formula, then posting output on leaderboard ## Challenges we ran into
  • Too much time to program and secure log-in account database, instead opted for data stored as an instance variable
  • social media buttons were hidden when part of app.js, instead turned into components ## Accomplishments that we're proud of
  • Bria: As a super duper beginner placed with super duper advanced team members, I am so grateful for my team's patience and willingness to teach along the way. It was hard to keep up at first, but It has been really rewarding and I'm happy with everything I've learned in just two days. I will definitely take the knowledge and experience with me from here on out!
  • Kenji: Kenji: I am proud of what I was able to learn over just two days working in a programming language, library, and style that are new to me. I’m proud that I was able to manage our github eectively and merge our branches correctly in the end, even though many features still confuse me. Finally I’m really proud of the website’s final look, my group worked really hard.
  • Edwin: Making the form and the leaderboard looks nice ## What we learned
  • We learned just how much it takes to truly be a team, combine ideas, and work together putting our best skills forward and learning from each other at the same time. ## What's next for GoEco - San Francisco
  • We hope that GoEco can have a database and someday become a mobile app for easier accessibility and allow users to create profiles, and even add friends!
