GoDoc

Inspiration

We were inspired to make GoDoc from the traffic in Indonesia. We thought of how ambulances would have a hard time reaching people and provide crucial first aid. Imagine you're having a heart attack and you call an ambulance to get to you. In Jakarta, it would take on average 30 to 40 minutes for the ambulance to arrive and even longer if there is heavy traffic, which Jakarta is infamous for. By the time they arrive, you might be dead. The fact that that is how millions of people die every year, something needs to be changed.

How it works

GoDoc is the solution to this problem. Firstly, instead of an ambulance, GoDoc uses ambucycles (ambulance motorcycle). This way instead of the average 30 to 40 minutes for the ambulance to reach the victim, an ambucycle could reach the victim in under 5 minutes. So, when a person gets into an accident, bystanders could call GoDoc’s call center and input the location and a short briefing of the accident through GoDoc’s app. Then, the app would automatically connect the victim to the nearest medically trained GoDoc volunteer who will ride the ambucycle and perform first aid that could save the victim’s life before the ambulance arrives.

Who it helps

The first 3 minutes after an emergency is the most crucial time to save a life. GoDoc’s ambucycles would be able to be there for that first few minutes which is the difference between life and death for the hundreds of victims in Jakarta.

Challenges we ran into

Since we were absolute beginners in this, our inexperience was a huge obstacle and we also encountered multiple issues in learning how to use Figma.

We were able to build a functional prototype for the first time.

Learned how to use Figma and how to plan and organize the prototype designs

What's next for GoDoc

We want to make the app fully functional, which includes making the map and direction feature capable of locating the victim and the nearest driver available from the user's inputs.
