Inspiration

I have been a family member of Bull Dog since 2019; I realize that this is the right time to make college life here fancier and more convenient. After pulling up the survey, what features do you want if you had a Truman App on your phone? GoDawg features

What it does

GoDawg will help students find suitable courses (Weight of class, Duration, Description, Professor, etc...), create a study group, book tutor sessions or professor office hours, contact all departments, and shop.

How we built it

I am using Flutter and Dart for the app front end and firebase for the database

Challenges we ran into

We try to make it as friendly and straightforward as we can. For the development part, we faced issues connecting the app to Firebase. We used git to manage the project as a team. Not every member knew how to use flutter and dart, so they had to learn it from scratch.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created an app within four days and completed a 48-hours learning Flutter and Dart course in Udemy. In addition, we know how to create a relational table and connect the database to our app to store and fetch them.

Understand about making a friendly app for everyone can use.

What's next for GoDawg App

Add more features to become an All-In-One app for students. For example, we are working on another project which is about building surveillance cameras for the campus. Then we will connect the surveillance camera to GoDawg App, then the campus residents can see it anytime from anywhere. In addition, we will add a News tab in our App to keep everyone on track about what is happening at Truman within 1-2 weeks and give them more information and announcement about internship and full-job opportunities.
