Inspiration
The web application for DARS currently is negatively viewed by many students. We decided to make a beginner friendly version that helps you select classes like an advisor would. Additionally, this app featured a schedule, course offerings search.
What it does
It functions as a mobile app companion to the current DARS, but better, and effectively has a better UI.
How we built it
Typescript, NPM, Firebase, FireStore, Redux
Challenges we ran into
Everything. Redux, was giving authentication and state issues, Reem and Zachary were both beginners to react-native so catching up to speed was half of the task. UI issues were prominent throughout this project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Storing metadata, authentication, getting redux to work, creating an intuitive UI.
What we learned

What's next for GoDARS
Finish up authentication and prominent issues within it. Fix redux, load a user's classes, adjust courses that the user is taking. Generate recommended next moves for class scheduling.
