Inspiration

Our inspiration came from our own experiences, and those of classmates who talked about not knowing what to do with the money, not knowing how to spend/save it, or not knowing everyday financial terms such as downpayment, mortgage, credit, etc...

What it does

This app teaches teens about basic budgeting, as well as financial terms, and skills.

How we built it

We built the app using MIT app inventor

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge we ran into was figuring out how to collaborate jointly on the same project, at the same time. Because of the platform that we used, there were often glitches which resulted in work getting lost when multiple people worked on the project at the same time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

One of the biggest accomplishments that we are proud of is getting so much done in such a short amount of time. This is especially impressive considering that all of us were juggling multiple other commitments, as well as completing the hackathon.

What we learned

We learned how to effectively collaborate as a team online, as well as app design and financial terms, and skills.

What's next for GOBUDGET

After the hackathon, we plan to keep on improving the app, and hopefully publish the app
