Inspiration

In this day and age, With the coronavirus crisis, people are less willing than ever to go grocery shopping. An already unpleasant experience, grocery shopping has now become unnerving and dangerous. One of the ways to stop spreading COVID-19 is social distancing, but yet we all still need groceries.

What it does

GoBasket allows customers to shop from the safety of their home, while still getting all of their favorite products, from all of their favorite local grocery stores. This will have a trickle-down effect, where grocery stores will still maintain business during this time, and ultimately increase their sales and customers without needing to have extra warehouses with shiny trucks. It also gives the shoppers opportunity to earn money as we know many people were affected financially by this pandemic.

How we built it

We built it using Ionic along with React, MySQL, Node.js and set of different API's

Challenges we ran into

Our biggest challenge was building the MVP, this product is very back-end heavy, therefore it requires a lot of steps and solutions, for which we didn't have simply time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Nevertheless, we managed to build a solid MVP that grasps the whole concept. We managed to work as a team of professionals, where everyone has their place, we managed to get in touch with one of the biggest supermarket chains here in Denmark and talk with them about them using our product.

What we learned

Business-wise and tech-wise we managed to learn a lot, we found synergy in the team and we would like to continue working with this idea as we found out, there's a market for it even after the pandemic.

What's next for GoBasket

We're launching a website, where local businesses can register for our solution so we can later include them in our app. We will start delivering groceries in Aalborg for elderly and vulnerable people, as we know the traffic in the supermarkets during Easter will be rising and the risk of COVID19 spreading will be much higher. We would like to gradually test the service and see, if people like this service, otherwise we want to set a new lifestyle for the Danes!
