Inspiration

Ever uninstall a Chinese rootkit (aka Fortnite) and still feel like they're lurking around your computer? Yeah we aren't a fan.

What it does

Finds and deletes all traces of your specified application from Program Files, AppData, and the registry on Windows

How we built it

Vim and Powershell. Tested on Windows 10 20H2

Challenges we ran into

Brendan gets salty when his first Google search is wrong.

Adminland registry editing is scary. Luckily we figured out how to make restore points and fix any accidents.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

3/4 of our team were first time hackers!

We all worked with something we've never touched before!

What we learned

Deeper understanding of Windows 10 and the dumb level of deep that installed applications can get.

Powershell is a super powerful tool.

What's next for GoAway

Refining the functions to where we're comfortable running it off of a VM then using it instead of regular uninstall methods.
