Inspiration
The idea for GoalSense was born from my experience navigating a fast-paced industry where staying informed and continuously upskilled isn’t optional—it’s survival. I realized how overwhelming it can be to keep up with rapid changes, scattered resources, and constant pressure to grow. Rather than fearing AI, I saw its potential to enhance human discipline, not replace it. GoalSense was built to help people like me stay accountable, informed, and emotionally connected to their goals. It’s designed to bring everything you need—career insights, learning paths, and progress tracking—into one focused hub. No more tab overload or forgotten goals. Just clear direction, AI-powered coaching, and a system that supports real growth. The AI coach however was an add on to the app that i got from Greg Isenberg's Ideabrowser.com ,the Ai accountability coach made perfect sense for my professional development app
What it does
GoalSense is an AI-powered platform designed to transform career aspirations into measurable progress. It offers: -AI Career Strategist: Provides strategic guidance for goal analysis and career planning. -Voice Assistant: Enables conversational AI for quick questions and casual interaction. -Intelligence Hub: Curates personalized industry news and content recommendations. -Goal Management: Features visual Kanban-style goal tracking with analytics. -Achievement System: Allows for milestone tracking and celebration. -Real-time Analytics: Offers progress tracking and performance insight.
How we built it
Most of the app was build by bolt ,refining my prompts on chat gpt and pasting them on bolt . Tools : Frontend: React 18 + TypeScript + Vite Styling: Tailwind CSS + Framer Motion Backend: Supabase (PostgreSQL + Auth + Edge Functions) AI: Groq (Llama 3) + ElevenLabs Convai News: CurrentsAPI with intelligent fallbacks
Challenges we ran into
One major problem I came across was understanding the errors since I'm not familiar with programming languages ,while bolt pretty much does everything I find if I had a clue of what is actually the root problem I could've finished way earlier . Another thing is that I was completely new to vibe coding and I didn't know how most of the tools work .I had to compromise on the actual vision I had to cut down costs and save time .My lack of understanding was the biggest challenge .
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm super proud to have built this app,no longer something I wish I had but an actual app that I can work on ,use everyday and improve people's work interactions, more confident about their skills .I learned alot of tools and the idea of vibe coding in less than a month ,this is a skill i'm adding to my resume .I'm proud to have reached this far after finding out about this hackathon later ,solo ?I still built it .
What we learned
While the app is up and working I learned that the target market should speak for itself .I started this app uncertain and just building to see if i will pull through ,I did not know there is actually a business opportunity in it
What's next for GoalSense
Hopefully I find someone to help me advance the app and :
- Fully reflect and redraft the value proposition of the app ,market research and making the experience more customized to the user .Then set up payment options .
- Give the AI features more capabilities like sending reminders, providing article summaries via a voice feature.Give the AI coach more personality . 3.Start an audience ,documenting my build online to create a fan base and visibility . By the time the app is released to everyone we should at least have some YouTube following .
