Inspiration

We all have some kind of goals and ambitions. But when we set out to achieve them, we often don't know how to start or where to go.

What it does

GoalPath starts with us, wherever we currently are - and takes us step by step toward that goal. It uses AI to show us not only that it is possible, but the path we can take. And any step that is still too steep, is broken down just as easily to manageable chunks. And broken down yet further, if still not doable.

How we built it

GoalPath was built entirely within bolt.new - using a single (one-shot) prompt! There was an lot of preliminary work e.g. crafting that detailed prompt and looking for the right LLMs the app would need to call (we wanted to make sure that they'd return structured responses the app could seamless parse).

Challenges we ran into

The app did not come out exactly as I had imagined: I clearly instructed it to show a beautiful flow on one page with no scrolling - alas these instructions were not strictly followed.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm very happy that the app is able to take the user's input, send it to an LLM through an API, parse the response and present it in a visually appealing matter. The Refresh, Export, and Share buttons all work from the get-go. Most importantly, this app is useful! Friends and family members that have tested it for me were very engaged, and wanted to use it again and again!

What we learned

One-shot apps are challenging! There is no "correct this," "re-do that," etc.

What's next for GoalPath

Connecting it to Supabase, so that users can create accounts, save their roadmaps, share with community, and more.
