Inspiration

I'm a recent grad who is applying to jobs everyday. I was tired of generating cover letters using chatgpt, because it wasn't good at remembering my resume that was pasted a few hours ago. Also, I couldn't ask it Job specific questions at the same time. So, to counter this I built this app.

What it does

It helps the user to generate cover letters based on the resume and Job Description. They can also get answers to job specific questions that are asked on the application.

How we built it

I just used the party rock app to build the application, it was simple and intuitive to do so. hassle free UI.

Challenges we ran into

There were some challenges when it came to picking the right models for text generation, eventually I got it right after a few trial and errors.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It produces perfect cover letters and answers to job specific questions. many of my friends used the app and got good results, some even jobs using this app.

What we learned

I learnt that using AI can be really easy and a fun way to do something that would take hours otherwise. I also got a look inside various ML models that Amazon uses and signed up for a ML certification course that I'll eventually take.

What's next for Job_Assist

It can further be improvised to get Linkedin messages to the hiring manager, Emails etc.
