GoTouchGrass Bro started as a fun idea inspired by a very real problem: computer science students and developers spending way too much time indoors. Between coding marathons, debugging all-nighters, and virtual meetings, many of us have forgotten what real sunlight looks like.

We wanted to build something that was both funny and functional, a way to use AI not just for productivity but for self-awareness and well-being. That’s how GoTouchGrass Bro was born, an AI-powered roast and accountability system that literally makes sure you go outside once in a while.

Using Google Gemini 2.5 Flash, the app analyzes photos to check if you’ve actually been outdoors. If you have, you’re praised. If you haven’t, prepare to get roasted. It’s a mix of humor, health, and habit-building, designed to make “touching grass” something you can track, laugh about, and actually stick to.

Ultimately, this project isn’t just about jokes. It’s about balance. Technology is amazing, but sometimes the best upgrade you can give yourself is sunlight
