About Go Rocket
Inspiration
The endless wonder of the cosmos and childhood dreams of space exploration inspired "Go Rocket." Drawing from classic arcade games, we sought to create an experience that would ignite the imaginations of players, allowing them to navigate the beauty and dangers of space through the screen.
What I Learned
This project was a journey through the intricacies of game development, from conceptualization to the final gameplay. I learned the importance of physics in game mechanics, the nuances of user interface design for intuitive gameplay, and the vital role of iterative testing to refine the player's experience.
How I Built My Project
"Go Rocket" was built using a mix of HTML5, CSS3, and TypeScript to bring the game to life in a web browser. I utilized the Phaser game framework for its powerful suite of tools that simplified handling sprites, animation, and collision detection. The game logic was developed in TypeScript, enabling complex control flows for managing game states and player progression.
Challenges Faced
One of the most significant challenges was balancing the game's difficulty was another hurdle; finding the sweet spot between challenging and enjoyable took numerous iterations and playtesting sessions. Moreover, ensuring the game ran smoothly across various browsers and devices meant overcoming compatibility issues, which was achieved through rigorous testing and code adjustments.
