Inspiration
Our love for the environment inspired us to make this website.
What it does
Go Green spreads awareness about the issues in the environment. In the quiz, we asked the users to choose options that best describe their habits. At the end, we informed them whether they are SuperEco, Eco, NotEco, or PoorlyEco.
How I built it
We used Glitch to build our website with the languages HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
Challenges I ran into
One of the biggest problems was organization. With everyone working on the same program, it was hard to determine which tags went with which. It was a huge matching puzzle that required us to squint our eyes at the tiny text. Since none of us are familiar with Javascript, making the quiz was a huge challenge that took a lot of YouTube videos, dedication, and wracking out brains.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
In the end, we wrapped up with a functional website that is enticing to the users, as well as information that raises awareness about going green. We are also proud of the amount of work we put into the website in only a few hours.
What I learned
Although our main goal is to inform the users, we also learned a lot about the environment with all the research we did. In addition, this our first time working in a Hackathon. Knowing the importance of teamwork and cooperation was key to the project, as we slowly realized it throughout the journey.
What's next for Go Green
Hopefully, in the future, Go Green can be a small community of citizens that have a passion for improving the environment.
