Inspiration

Our team was inspired by the cultural notion of mental health through the lense of the naive use of social media. It is our interest to make a difference within the community by showing them the negative impacts of social media. We hope to have this game be impactful for people interested in the advocacy against cyberbullying.

What it does

It is a video game that sends a message to others to not take social media too seriously, and to show how easy it is for people online to "get to you"

How we built it

We used the Unity game engine and programmed it using C#. We worked collaboratively using Unity's built in collaboration system.

Challenges we ran into

We were all very unfamiliar with how Unity works, so we had to spend a lot of our time researching how to use it. Also, there were a bunch of errors within the code that were very difficult to determine what the cause was.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we built a functional game within the limited time frame that we had.

What we learned

We learned how to work collaboratively online and how to properly communicate with each other virtually.

What's next for Go-Go Girl

Refining the bugs within it, extending the length of the game, adding more animations, and also changing some of the texts to provide some back story on the main character to further build the player's connection with the protagonist.
