Inspiration
Less energy gives more – this slogan gave us the inspiration for our Go Far-a-day app. Our app directly shows that you can gain a lot in many different areas by saving energy.
Our aim is to develop an app that helps the companies and offices save more energy and money, become more eco efficient, reduce their CO2 emissions, and at the same time, promote teamwork and common effort and improve the working environment.
What it does
Our app reminds/notifies employees to turn off lights/devices just before they are leaving their work space. It is done via text messages - employee receives a notification a few minutes before he or she leaves a job. The app contains phone numbers and working hours of employees, so it knows whom and when to notify. The app helps developing a habit among employees to do such trivial tasks which may help directly reduce waste of energy. Then, through the collected data of energy consumption, the app calculates total amount of kWhs and euros saved. Go Far-a-day has a counter which shows to all employees and to the employer the saved amount, part of which goes towards the common goal, be it having a party, buying a new playstation for the office, etc. Whole office works together to reduce electricity consumption, at the same time gaining money for themselves.
How we built it

Challenges we ran into
The development of the wireframe has presented few but significant problems: little amount of time to illustrate the app capabilities, and the cleanliness and intuitiveness of the layout.
- The amount of time dedicated to the development of the various sections has been barely enough and we are still missing some pages.
- We have put an effort in keeping a clean layout that does not display differing styles but should also explain itself quick.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We believe that Go Far-a-day is quite a universal app and it can be used by various companies to help them save more.
What we learned
- We researched the information that was available to us and we found out that there are many points upon which companies can reduce their energy consumption, save resources and decrease CO2 emissions.
- We gained more experience in coming up with a solid concept in a short period of time.

- Reviewing the functionality
- Trying to interest various companies in the app.
- Developing more updates.
