Our aim is to help the Peace Corps attract interest from high school or college students that may not have previously heard of the organization and its opportunities. We created a Tinder-like web app that displays a photo and a "short" [the API would need to be modified to include a short description] description. The user can then swipe or click to upvote or downvote a photo-description fair. (We used a dummy photo since the API does not currently have any photos.) The app was made to work on both desktop and mobile devices.
We have an algorithm that will display photos based on previous upvoting and downvoting. The projects displayed gradually become more and more similar to the person's interests.
This is a prototype for a full app that will use a much larger database than the API we had access to.
