Inspiration

Inspired by problems people face because of Corona. Trying to create awareness while also letting people have fun in quarantine at their homes.

What it does

Main aim of the game was to provide users with a FUN-FILLED EXPERIENCE to spend time and simultaneously RAISE AWARENESS among them about coronavirus and how to fight it.Mainly, kids are the most vulnerable group of our society and if they catch covid, they may end up in critical condition.Since kids are the ones who play games frequently,we felt it's best to raise awareness among them using a game.

How we built it

We build the game using pygame framework in python

Challenges we ran into

We weren't familiar with the Pygame framework in python. So figuring out the various functions and methodologies was difficult yet fulfilling and fruitful.

Positioning characters, elements and state management was also a challenging task.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  1. It was our first time working so extensively in Pygame, but we managed to overcome those issues within a short span of time and successfully create a game which nearly fits into whatever we planned initially before starting the work on our project.

  2. We learned a lot about functionalities of Pygame and Game development.

What we learned

Pygame: Got a good foundation for game development Python: A better understanding of Object-Oriented Programming

What's next for Go Corona

Planning to make it a 3-D game with multiple tracks in which Corona will be present. Hoping to add more characters as heroes and adding features that promote home-quarantine, increasing immunity, and being more prudent as citizens of society which act as a score booster in the game.

Challenges we ran into

Pygame is a relatively new framework of Python. We didn't have much experience with it either. So it was difficult to figure out which all functions and in-built methods were there and what each one's purpose is. Placing the different objects and positioning them was also a tough challenge.
