GO+

  • "GO": means travel, business trip, wherever you go.
  • "+" means extra benefit and "connection".

Inspiration

Idea

Whenever and wherever you GO, there is always someone who has a Connection with you. He or she or they may take the same flight as you do, or may stay in the same hotel, or may take the taxi to attend the same conference, or may take a similar place-visit plan. In this way he or she or they can share the rates with you, share the room with you, more than that, share the business idea or life experience with you.

Target:

Business people, Traveller, People who like make new friends, People who like saving money and time

What it does

1. Manage and share the itinerary

  • (Now) Add an itinerary manually, including Flight info, Hotel info, where to go, and personal preference, etc via Expedia Search API.
  • Confirm you would like to share your itinerary to system, in this way, the system can help match the person who share the same plan.
  • (Future) Expedia will release itinerary api soon. At that time, the integrated personal itinerary information will be confirmed. In this way, the data will be much more reliable than manual input.

2. Connect to the GO+ members who share the same itinerary

  • You can get the how many people share this itinerary and who they are.

3. Get the available share plan for this itinerary: Community, Accommodation, Play, etc

  • a. From where to where
  • b. Gather location for co-ride
  • c. GO+ member information for this plan
  • d. Uber Request in-app for co-ride
  • e. (Optional) Split the fare with paypal, (Future: This part can be integrated with Uber fare splitting api which will be released soon officially)

-2. Accommodation Share

  • a. Location information about this hotel or accommodation place
  • b. Gather location for co-ride
  • c. GO+ member information for this plan
  • d. Expedia Deal for this Accommodation
  • e. Uber Request in-app for co-ride
  • f. (Optional) Split the fare with paypal, (Future: This part can be integrated with Uber fare splitting api which will be released soon officially)

-3. Play/Visit Share

  • a. Gather location for co-ride
  • c. GO+ member information for this plan
  • d. Expedia Deal for this visit plan
  • e. Uber Request in-app for co-ride
  • f. (Optional) Split the fare with paypal, (Future: This part can be integrated with Uber fare splitting api which will be released soon officially)

4. Connect to GO+ friend

  • You can add friend who share the same itinerary
  • You can communicate with them via chatting/calling

How I built it

1. Android App

  • 1. Native Android App for the client
  • 2. Hotel, Flight and trip related information via Expedia API
  • 3. Co-ride request and fare via Uber and Paypal
  • 4. Location Based information

2. Launch Page Goplus.club, Goplus.online

  • 1. Domain host via .CLUB and RADIX
  • 2. The web host via Google Cloud Platform
  • 3. Background video cutting via ScreenFlow

Challenges I ran into

  • INDIVIDUAL TEAM with LIMITED TIME, start from nothing!!
  • How to conceive and polish the whole idea
  • Requirement and Scenario Analysis and whole workflow design
  • API selection
  • Logo, UI, UX design

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

  • I'm so happy to get this name in my mind for the product, GO+!
  • The polished final idea for this product, I LOVE IT! I talk to many expert and friends here, THEY ALL LIKE IT! Thank you for the help and suggestion!

What's next for Go+

1. API

Looking forward to Expedia Itinerary API and Uber fare splitting API and any other API can rich the information in the product and bring more possibility

2. Wearable

Wearable devices can improve the easy communication and level up the user experience of notification

3. IoT

The sensor/beacon in airplane, hotel, or visiting-place, or shopping more will bring better notification and rich more imaginations for GO+.
