Go-ceries

Inspiration

Right now there is heavy talk on social media about the new grocery prices compared to previous years, so we wanted to see if there was an actual difference and if there was just how much of a difference there was.

What it does

It allows users to pick a city, and then be shown the current price, old price, and percent increase or decrease in the item to inform them on the trends going on currently in the grocery market.

How we built it

We used swift Ai and Numbeo to get the data we needed. We made our own data table and passed that to each individual cell.

Challenges we ran into

At first we ran into challenges with trying to find databases and/or API's and we were not able to find any free API's but we did end up finding a database with what we needed and were able to get data that way. Our largest problem was trying to figure out a way to navigate to different views based on the destination selected from a list.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of learning a new language such as swift which is highly complex, and also for applying ourselves to find solutions to difficult problems.

What we learned

We learned that as long as you take the time to read and apply yourself to any challenge you can surprise yourself by what you can accomplish.

What's next for Go-ceries

In terms of what's next, we all want to progress in our careers and ultimately become fully fledged engineers, leading tech forward and always problem solving.
