Inspiration

Society is always moving forward and problems are always being overlooked. That inspired us to bring attention to problems people might not even know they have. The problems that inspired us were the lack of physical activity people have, the lack of time people now spend interacting with family and friends, and the over use of technology. We wanted to help people create and foster a healthy lifestyles for themselves, and make a difference in our community.

What it does

Go!Board is a board game that combines physical activity to get people up on on their feet. As well as giving people the opportunity to get together and spend time, as that's what the core of board games have always been. It also is technology free to allow for a quality no screen time experience.

How we built it

The board game is custom made buy us. Our team came up with the spiral game board design, our logo, chose the exercises, the colors, and how to play. And with the help from adobe illustrator and the digital art and animation teacher at our school, we brought it to life. We actually manufacture and assemble all the pieces of our game at our school. We use various format printers to print out the "stickers" which are the log cover and the game board it's self, the game cards, and the rules. As well as using a 3D printer for our game pieces.

Challenges we ran into

Working with each other, we have found that many times we have many differentiating views. However, when a conflict arise we sit down as a group and with our teacher to discuss the topic in a constructive manner to reach the best agreement.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of all the improvements we have made to our company which include; improvements to our game itself, our company's information, our presentations, our pitches, and the way we work. Other things we are proud of are the competitions we have attended and the improvement we have seen with each.

What we learned

One of the biggest things we have learned is how to work and grow as a team. We have learned to create, problem solve, present, and sell our product. As well as all the valuable lessons and advice our mentors have taught us, that have helped us stay on target and work harder. Not to mention that have we have learned and continue to learn how to manage and run a new business.

What's next for Go!Board the exercise game

We plan to try to make GO!Board accessible to everyone young or old, if you have a disability or even have trouble playing, we plan to make it accessible for them. We are also planing on ways to get our name out more, in order to sell more of our product to potential customers.
