How we start
Inspired by the growing trend of self-study, particularly during the Covid-19 era, our project aims to provide a platform for individuals to curate their own learning journeys. Users can easily create and customize their curriculum and study schedules. Additionally, they can gain insights and inspiration from others' curricula and study plans, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning community.
What it does
Our project acts as a hub for users to find online courses that are available for them to enroll in and allows users to create a study schedule based on the courses they are taking.
How we built it
We started brainstorming with Miro; made mock up via Figma. React is used as main language, Google Firebase for the authentication, and Firestore for the database. Through the Adobe express, we designed the logo.
Challenges we ran into
- Authentication: We ran into an instance where we were not able to utilize Firebase's login UI as we were getting frequent errors trying to implement it. But in the end, we were able to debug our code and found a solution to this problem.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of being supportive teammates to one another. We've communicated openly with each other whenever we find bugs or even when we ask for each other's opinions.
What we learned
We've learned that if we have the right mindset anything that we do is possible!
What's next for Gnosis
- Create a recommender system where based on the user's course interests it would recommend similar courses to the user.
- Have bookmarks for interested courses
