Inspiration
In the year 3000, humans have made contact with exraterrestreal life. In order to communicate with such we have created GlyphLingo, Glyphish being the general alien language. Our team was inspired to make a user friendly english learning app to help aliens communicate. That being said, aliens have to learn english from scratch, like a baby would, so we made our website language independent teaching aliens english thanks to visual aids, audios and emotional cues.
What it does
Our website displays a series of exercises similar to Duolingo aiming to teach listening, reading and word recognition. We decided to make a website so it could be used on computers in space stations.
How we built it
We built our backend with python and our frontend with html and Javascript.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into challenges connecting our backend to our frontend from different computers. We also had to overcome a leaning curve while coding in the Python terminal.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are pround of our concept and how we were able to make it come true using new tools we've never used before such as Github, Python FlashAPI, and the pyton terminal.
What we learned
We deepend our knowlend in Python, html and javascript. We learned about frontend and backend codes and how to code them,
What's next for GlyphLingo
Teaching humans Glyphish and allowing Aliens to add words from their language to our database.
