Inspiration

Global information is scattered across dozens of websites, making it difficult to quickly compare countries, monitor live data, or gain meaningful insights. We wanted to create a single platform that combines real-time global information with AI, enabling users to explore the world through one modern, interactive dashboard.

What it does

Glox Globe is an AI-powered global intelligence platform that brings together live weather, world clocks, currency exchange, country statistics, comparisons, telemetry dashboards, and interactive analytics. Powered by a Gemma-based AI assistant, users can ask questions in natural language, compare nations, and explore global information from a single interface.

How we built it

Glox Globe was built as a modern web application using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. It integrates multiple REST APIs to retrieve live weather, currency exchange rates, world time, and country information. The AI assistant is powered by Google Gemma, enabling natural-language interactions, while interactive dashboards and charts present complex global data in an intuitive way.

Challenges we ran into Combining multiple real-time APIs into one seamless platform. Synchronizing live updates while maintaining a responsive interface. Designing an intuitive dashboard capable of displaying large amounts of global information. Integrating the Gemma AI assistant while working within free-tier limitations and handling API reliability gracefully. Accomplishments that we're proud of Successfully unified multiple global services into one application. Integrated an AI assistant capable of answering global information queries. Built interactive telemetry dashboards and customizable country comparison tools. Created a polished interface that makes complex global data easy to understand. What we learned

This project strengthened our skills in API integration, frontend development, AI integration, asynchronous programming, dashboard design, and presenting real-time data through an intuitive user experience. We also learned the importance of designing software that balances functionality with simplicity.

What's next for Glox Globe AI-generated country reports and summaries. Personalized dashboards and saved user preferences. Expanded datasets covering sustainability, transportation, and public infrastructure.
