Inspiration

We wanted to create a quiet space for spiritual growth. This app is a place where people can feel supported, not preached to. The idea of a personal guide who offers encouragement, wisdom, and Scripture felt like a natural next step for those who are growing quietly, day by day.

What it does

GlowUp Faith is a conversational AI app designed to feel like a wise and emotionally intelligent companion. It gently guides users through moments of reflection, shares Scripture with full citations, and offers insights from timeless public domain texts. It is not a therapist or a preacher. It is a calm voice that helps you feel seen and spiritually grounded.

How we built it

We used Tavus for the conversational video interface, bolt.new for the hackathon launchpad, and Supabase to manage user data and app logic. Each layer connects to create an experience that feels personal, not programmed.

Challenges we ran into

Tavus integration required some trial and error, especially around getting the persona to sound natural and compassionate. We also spent time making sure the flow of conversation matched the tone we envisioned for GlowUp Faith. Deciding on the right boundaries for the AI’s role was another area we navigated carefully.

Accomplishments that we are proud of

We successfully integrated multiple tools to create a full and emotionally resonant app experience. From visual interface to voice, every detail was designed to feel warm and intentional. Seeing it come together was incredibly rewarding.

What we learned

This was our first time using Tavus, and we loved the tool. It made the AI feel more human and allowed us to bring our spiritual companion to life in a way that truly surprised us. We also learned how to move quickly across platforms while keeping the user experience front and center.

What is next for GlowUp Faith

We plan to integrate RevenueCat and introduce a small subscription fee to keep the app sustainable. While GlowUp Faith currently demos with biblical Scripture, the core experience can support all faiths where sacred texts are available and can be used in language models. We see potential for this platform to become a welcoming spiritual companion across traditions, always grounded in love, wisdom, and gentle guidance.
