Inspiration
The inspiration behind Glowentory came from my own experience with skincare and makeup products. I love shopping for beauty products, especially when I find a good deal, and I also receive skincare and makeup as gifts from family and friends. As a result, I often end up buying more products without realizing what I already have at home, while some products remain unopened or forgotten.
What it does
I wanted to build a platform that helps me organize all the products I own, keep track of expiration dates, and make better use of what I already have. I also wanted to integrate AI to help users customize their beauty routines by finding products that work well together with their existing collection. In the future, I hope to expand Glowentory beyond beauty products to help users organize other household items with expiration dates.
How we built it
Challenges we ran into
Accomplishments that we're proud of
What we learned
Through this project, I learned that AI can be used to solve everyday problems in a practical way. Instead of simply recommending new products, AI can help users make better use of products they already own and create more personalized beauty routines. I also realized that organization is also about helping us take action. For example, expiration reminders can encourage users to prioritize products that are expiring soon, while allowing them to mark products as finished once they have used them up.
What's next for Glowentory
In the future, I hope to improve Glowentory by making product entry easier, providing more personalized AI recommendations and offering customizable expiration reminders. I also see potential to expand the platform beyond beauty products to help users organize other item they own. Ultimately, I want Glowentory to help people save money, reduce waste, and get more value out of the products they already have, while making their daily beauty routines easier to manage.
