Inspiration
While I've been doing graphic development using a graphic tablet... I've always personally felt the distance I had between my left hand and my laptop keyboard. I wanted to shorten that, with the sacrifice of having only a few select commands. So, I headed out to build a glove with buttons at the 4 (non-thumb) finger tips.
What it does
As described, it would have 4 buttons are each fingertips. The buttons would be programmable to single key commands or to macros for the convenience of graphic design.
How I built it
Still didn't get to the stage of a glove, but did figure out my way through an Arduino (from scratch) and got a button to function(send message to computer via python) and represent it's status with red/green LEDs.
Challenges I ran into
Getting an arduino input to an OS level keyboard input seemed difficult to attain. It is quite basic in the perspective of an Arduino Leonardo. Armed with an Arduino UNO which won't update it's firmware, I had a heck of a trouble.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I amn't proud of anything, but I atleast I figured out how an Arduino works, got LEDs and buttons working.
What I learned
I did learn that there is a LOT more to learn. I can just say that I'm up for it.
What's next for Glove(less)Control
What's next for Glove(less)Control?!! Well, it's GloveControl. Gotta kick out the '(less)' and bring in a glove.
