Inspiration
We wanted to see where people were tweeting from as efficiently as possible
What it does
Pulls public twitter data continuously and plots it on a three D globe.
How we built it
A decent amount of frustration and javascript. Plus lots of caffeine.
Challenges we ran into
Its a lot of data and it needs to be dealt with quickly and efficiently. The library we were working with is also very old and doesnt have any support anymore.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
It runs and is stable even after a lot of time.
What we learned
Make sure all of you libraries are still supported before you begin.
What's next for Globe
Maybe some neat clustering algorithms I am not sure. It needs to stay fast though which could be a limiting factor.
