Inspiration
We wanted to build an application that allowed women, particularly those living alone or doing study abroad, a way to connect with others and feel secure in their environment.
What it does
Allows women to connect with locals, provides helpline contacts, maps, and statistics regarding woman-related issues.
How we built it
We primarily used React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to build the web application.
Challenges we ran into
We struggled with the time period since we could not incorporate live location tracking.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud to have created a well-organized web application that is comprehensive and easy to use.
What we learned
We learned how to organize our code in a manner that is comprehensible and maintainable.
What's next for Global Women Network
We hope to incorporate live tracking, possible notification systems, and a mobile app version of our application.
