Inspiration
Our inspiration came from our personal experience of living in the Bay Area, where we have felt the effects of climate change. Every year our drought worsens, and we break the wildfire records.
What it does
The website connects people all of the world to share concerns and develop strategies to combat climate change. People can learn ask questions and learn from others.
How we built it
We used a combination of wix, repl.it, and animation software to make a website that coherently displays of downsides of climate change and the steps necessary to fix it.
Challenges we ran into
We ran across problems with using the strange user interface of wix to program in HTML. So, we had to use a python program that was linked instead.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of how we made a connected website that can help people share problems, questions, and solutions. We are also proud of how we did all of this online, which we originally thought was going to be hard to do.
What we learned
While doing research, we learned exactly how disastrous climate change can be. Looking at the statistics, we really understood the full picture.
What's next for Global Warming Take Action
We can work on advertising our website to truly make it popular and bring change across the globe.
Our Team
We are a group of high schoolers who go to Saint Francis High School in Mountain View. We are all part of our school's robotics team, and that's when we started to work together. We thought that this hackathon would be interesting and that it would give us a chance to explore our strengths and weaknesses.
