Inspiration
Many online health calculators are cluttered with heavy pop-up ads, slow scripts, or mandatory sign-up forms. I wanted to build a clean, instant, and mobile-friendly web application where users can access essential health formulas effortlessly.
What it does
Global Tools Box provides free online utilities like the Ideal Weight & BMI Calculator. It takes user height, weight, and gender parameters to instantly compute:
- Body Mass Index (BMI) to assess healthy weight ranges.
- Ideal Body Weight (IBW) calculated using standard medical Devine formulas.
How I built it
The core logic is written in modern JavaScript for fast client-side processing without page reloads. The layout is built using clean HTML5 and CSS3, styled for complete responsiveness across mobile and desktop browsers, and hosted on Blogger infrastructure.
Challenges I ran into
Ensuring formula accuracy while keeping the UI minimal and mobile-optimized was a key focus. Optimizing script performance so results appear dynamically in under a second required lightweight state handling.
What's next for Global Tools Box
I plan to add more web utilities, including TDEE/Calorie calculators, financial tools, and developer utilities.
