Inspiration

Many usable laptops and phones in developed countries become unused every year, while students and freelancers in developing countries cannot afford them. This inspired us to create a platform that connects unused devices with people who need affordable technology.

What it does

Our project is a global marketplace where users from developed countries can sell used but working tech devices, and buyers from developing countries can purchase them at lower prices. This helps reduce e-waste and improve digital access worldwide.

How we built it

We designed a web-based marketplace system where sellers upload product details and buyers can browse and request devices. We also planned verification and shipping support features for safe global transactions.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was planning international shipping and building trust between buyers and sellers from different countries. We addressed this by proposing verified seller profiles and logistics partnerships.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully designed a scalable idea that solves both digital inequality and e-waste problems through one platform.

What we learned

We learned how marketplace platforms can support sustainability and improve global access to technology.

What's next for Global Second Life Tech Market Place

Next, we plan to add secure payment integration, logistics partnerships, and refurbishment support to make the platform usable worldwide.
